Originally I trained as a picture restorer, and worked for a company in London restoring oil paintings for top London galleries. I then went on to do a fine art degree in which I concentrated on various printing techniques. Getting married soon after finishing my degree I continued restoring paintings for various galleries from home.
It was as my family grew up that I decided to take up painting. Initially I worked with watercolour, and learnt a tremendous amount about the basic principles of painting from a very good teacher. Having gone to an acrylic workshop, I knew immediately that this was the medium for me, with the freedom and fast pace which one can work with it. I find acrylic totally adaptable, and am addicted to painting landscapes as I can use the various scenes to create a painting as feels right to me at that time. I love playing with the paint, often just using the subject to manipulate the paint in various ways
